Which measurement should I take first?
Measure the length and width of the pour area, then the planned thickness (slab thickness is usually 4 inches for patios and walkways, more for driveways). Concrete is sold by volume, so getting thickness right matters as much as the footprint — a common mistake is estimating only from square footage and forgetting depth entirely.
