What this site does

BuildyWork provides free calculators and planners for home projects. The calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you enter into a tool are not sent to our servers or stored anywhere.

Analytics

We may use standard web analytics (such as Google Analytics) to understand which pages are visited and how the site is used, in order to improve it. Analytics tools collect information like your approximate location, device and browser type, and pages viewed. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

Cookies

This site may use cookies and similar technologies set by analytics providers and, where active, advertising partners such as Google AdSense. Cookies may be used to remember basic preferences and to support ad personalization and measurement. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; blocking cookies will not prevent you from using the calculators.

Advertising

BuildyWork may display ads served by third-party advertising companies, including Google. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and how this applies to partner sites, at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

To opt out of personalized advertising, you can adjust your ad settings directly at adssettings.google.com, or use the industry opt-out tool at aboutads.info/choices. Opting out does not stop ads from appearing, but it should reduce ad personalization based on your browsing activity.

Third-party links

Some tool pages link to external sources (manufacturer data, retailer coverage guidance, building code references) to support the figures used in a calculation. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data collected about you, or to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because this site does not require an account or collect personal data directly through its calculators, most requests will relate to analytics or advertising cookies — which you can control through your browser or through the opt-out links above.

US state privacy rights (Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information)

Several US states give residents rights over personal information, including the right to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising. BuildyWork does not sell personal information to third parties. The main data our advertising and analytics partners process is technical: identifiers like cookies and device or browser information, approximate location, and pages viewed — used to serve and measure ads and to support ad personalization. Depending on how your state defines "sharing," this kind of ad partnership may qualify, so we offer the same choice either way: use the Google Ads Settings and industry opt-out links above to limit ad personalization, or use your browser's cookie controls to block third-party cookies entirely. We do not have a "Do Not Sell or Share" button on this site because we use the opt-out mechanisms above instead of a first-party toggle; if that changes, this page will be updated.
