Masonry Calculators

Calculate brick, concrete block, rebar, and retaining wall material needs.

Calculators

Which measurement should I take first?

Start with the wall or slab length, height (or course count), and thickness — every masonry calculator on this site uses those dimensions as its base input. For reinforced work, decide your rebar spacing before you order block or brick, since it affects cell fill and course layout. For retaining walls, confirm the wall height and any setback/batter requirements first, since taller walls often need geogrid or engineering review beyond what a quantity calculator covers.

Suggested project order

  1. Rebar — plan reinforcement before you place block or pour footings.
  2. Concrete Block — estimate CMU count for foundation or structural walls.
  3. Brick — order veneer or full brick once the block backup (if any) is planned.
  4. Retaining Wall — a separate system with its own block, cap, and base-material counts.
