Embed a BuildyWork calculator on your site

8 of our calculators can run inside your own web page. Paste two lines of HTML and your readers get a working estimate without leaving your site. It is free, needs no account, and you can remove it at any time by deleting the code.

What embedding means

An embedded calculator is shown through an iframe: a small window in your page that loads the tool from buildywork.com. Your visitors type their numbers and see results right there. The calculator runs the same formulas as the full page on our site, so when we correct a constant or update a source, your copy updates too. You don't host any files or keep anything up to date.

The embedded version shows only the calculator itself. The longer explanation, sources, worked examples and FAQ stay on the full page, which the credit link under the widget points to. Readers who want to check how a number was produced can follow that link.

Who uses it

Real estate blogs and listing sites.A square footage calculator next to a post about measuring a home lets buyers check a listing's stated area themselves.
Contractor and trade websites. A roofer, painter or HVAC installer can put a quick estimator on a service page. Visitors arrive at a quote request already knowing roughly how much material the job needs.
DIY and home-improvement blogs. A deck build or room repaint tutorial is more useful when readers can plug in their own dimensions instead of scaling your example by hand.
Teachers and trade-school instructors. A live tool in a course page lets students test how pitch, span or room size changes the result.

The embed code

Every calculator uses the same two-part snippet. Here is the one for the Roof Pitch Calculator:

The first line is the iframe. Only the path after /embed/ changes between tools. The second line is a plain text link crediting the calculator. Please keep it: it is the only condition of using the widget, and it tells your readers where the full method and sources live.

Sizing and placement tips

The default height of 900 pixels fits every tool with its results open. If a tool shows a scroll bar inside your layout, raise the height rather than cropping it.
max-width:480px keeps the widget readable on desktop; on phones it shrinks to the column width because the width is set to 100%.
loading="lazy"means the calculator loads only when a reader scrolls near it, so it won't slow down the top of your page.
On WordPress, paste the code into a Custom HTML block. Most site builders (Squarespace, Wix, Webflow) have an equivalent embed or code block.
